Womens Health
Women's care is one of Dr. Flanagan's passions. She trained extensively in school with women's care specialists and has spent much of her time in practice with women. Routine well check-ups, fertility work, optimizing the menstrual cycle, libido, mood support, sleep support, optimizing weight and many aspects of care specific to women are a focus of Dr. Flanagan's care.
We do routine well-women check-ups and screenings and treat many acute and chronic illnesses.
Fertility Support
Dr. Flanagan works with women and men of childbearing years to optimize health prior to conception. She also specializes in helping couples who are struggling to get pregnant or who have had pregnancy loss. There are many tools available to a Naturopathic Physician to support fertility. These include some tools you may be familiar with from conventional medical care like blood work and hormonal support, but also include homeopathy, cleansing, herbs, body work, bio-identical hormone use and much more.
Dr. Flanagan has relationships with many providers in the area who work with her as a team to optimize fertility and decrease unwanted interventions.
Your particular journey around beginning or expanding your family is listened to and supported. The treatments are tailored to optimize your health and fertility and will be customized to fit what you need. Each person who works with Dr. Flanagan is able to receive a blending of the latest in fertility support and the age old wisdom held in plant medicine, and other treatments proven over time.
Holistic Pelvic Care™
Both Dr. Regina Flanagan and Dr. Alexandra Volarich are pleased to be offering Holistic Pelvic Care™ (HPC) to support pelvic floor function as part of their naturopathic family practice.
Imbalances in the pelvic floor musculature can have a dramatic effect on many functions of the body including urine incontinence, pelvic pain, sexual function (including vaginal dryness postmenopausally), hemorrhoids, and low back pain. Dysfunction can result from childbirth, falls, and sports. Even a routine childbirth process can lead to trigger points and myofascial inflammation that lead to pelvic floor dysfunction. This physical therapy treatment is recommended for all women postpartum beginning at least 6 weeks after delivery. It can support recovery even years after the events that have caused dysfunction.
Pelvic floor physical therapy is a technique practiced by women’s health physical therapists. Holistic Pelvic Care™ is a technique built on pelvic floor physical therapy, that can additionally help address trauma from abuse, childbirth, or injury. As well as addressing purely physical concerns, HPC can approach the energetic and spiritual disruption that can result from traumas in the pelvic bowl and root chakra.
